Aged Domain
The more established the site from which the link is originating, the more weight Google assigns to that link.
The age of the domain refers to the date with which it was registered. Aged domains are assumed to have more weight because they tend to be from established sites with a track record.
Google thus has a history for these sites and knows whether or not they have engaged in illicit black hat activities or are reputable repositories of useful information.
It is thus in vour favour if you can build backlinks from older established sites.
High Page Rank
We mentioned earlier in this chapter the concept of page rank. Your goal is to get as many back links from high page rank sites as possible. The easiest way to identify the page rank of particular sites is to download the FREE

Google knows that it is highly unlikely that unrelated sites are linking to you for the purpose of creating customer value. Most likely backlinks from unrelated sites are a sign that web masters are engaged in link swapping or reciprocal linking.
So focus your efforts on getting links from sites that are focused on the same niche as your site.
